IPL 2025, PBKS vs DC Updates

Authorities abandoned the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals after 10.1 overs due to a “significant technical failure” at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal called off the game as a precaution after Jammu authorities issued a red alert. Officials evacuated fans, players, and staff immediately; many players left the stadium still wearing batting pads.

Punjab Kings had started strongly, scoring 122/1 in 10.1 overs. Opener Priyansh Arya smashed 70 off 34 balls, while Prabhsimran Singh remained unbeaten on 50. Rain delayed the toss earlier in the day, pushing back the start of play.

(AP Photo)IPL 2025, PBKS vs DC: Spectators leave the stands after authorities evacuated the stadium during the Indian Premier League cricket match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

PBKS were chasing victory in the game against Delhi knowing that a win could make them the first team to confirm top four playoff spot. Both teams has been around since the inception of the IPL, 18 years ago — albeit with different names — but have never won the title. If that has to change this season, the first step would be to secure a spot in the IPL playoffs.

After the draw, Punjab Kings still sit third with 16 points from 12 matches, while Delhi are in 5th spot with 14 points. Shreyas Iyer’s side are on the same number of points as the top 2 sides, Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. But a win today would have taken them to the top with 17 points.

PBKS vs DC IPL Match Most Runs

PBKS batter Priyansh Arya scored 70 runs off 34 deliveries, hitting five fours and six sixes.

Match Most Wickets

DC pacer T Natarajan (1/4) took one wicket.

Sameer Rizvi: The Rising Star of Indian Cricket

About Him

Born on December 6, 2003 , in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh , Sameer Rizvi is a dynamic right-handed batter with an off-break bowling style. Widely dubbed the “right-handed Suresh Raina ” for his aggressive strokeplay and fielding prowess 7, he has emerged as one of India’s most promising young talents. At just 21 years old , his career already reflects a blend of raw power, tactical awareness, and relentless ambition .

Early Career

Rizvi’s cricketing journey began in his hometown, where his flair for aggressive batting caught attention early. By the age of 16 , he made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy , showcasing maturity beyond his years 3. His performances in U-19 cricket further solidified his reputation as a future star, earning him a spot in domestic leagues and youth tournaments.

Domestic Career

Rizvi’s domestic career took off when he represented Kanpur Superstars in the UP T20 League . In 2023 , he became the tournament’s highest run-getter , amassing 455 runs , a testament to his consistency and adaptability in high-pressure matches 10. His exploits for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy highlighted his ability to anchor innings and accelerate when needed, making him a vital cog in the state team .

International Career

As of 2025, Rizvi is yet to make his international debut, but his performances in domestic and franchise cricket have placed him firmly on the radar of selectors. His aggressive approach against spinners and sharp reflexes in the field align with modern T20 requirements, positioning him as a potential candidate for India’s limited-overs setup in the near future .

IPL Career

Rizvi’s breakthrough came when he joined the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2023 auction . Though he has played only 8 matches so far , scoring 51 runs at an average of 12.75 , his impact has been memorable. On his IPL debut , he smashed a six off the very first ball he faced, announcing his arrival on the big stage . Despite limited opportunities, his fearless batting and ability to target spinners have drawn comparisons to CSK legend Suresh Raina . Now Rizvi bought by the Delhi Capitals for Rs. 95 lakh in 2025.

Other T20 Leagues & T10 League

Beyond the IPL, Rizvi has dominated the UP T20 League , where his 2023 heroics earned him recognition as a finisher. While details about his participation in T10 leagues remain sparse, his explosive style suggests he could thrive in the shortest format. His adaptability across leagues underscores his versatility, whether anchoring an innings or chasing steep targets .

Strong Zone

Rizvi’s strength lies in his fearless approach against spin , a skill honed through years of domestic grind. His power-hitting in the middle and death overs, combined with lightning-quick reflexes in the field , makes him a match-winner. Known for his 360-degree strokeplay , he excels in high-pressure situations, often turning games with audacious shots 57. His off-spin adds depth to his game, offering captains flexibility in tight matches .

Legacy & Future Prospects

Though still early in his career, Rizvi’s trajectory mirrors that of a future Indian cricket icon. Emerging from Uttar Pradesh’s underfunded cricket ecosystem, his rise symbolizes perseverance and talent. With CSK’s mentorship and consistent domestic performances, he aims to break into India’s white-ball squads. Analysts predict he could evolve into a middle-order enforcer in T20Is, much like MS Dhoni or Andre Russell, blending finishing skills with leadership .

IPL Match 59 (LSG vs RCB): Toss Predictions

It is now time to look at the LSG vs RCB toss predictions. Astrologically, the toss for this match seems to be in favour of LSG. The captain of LSG, Pant, has a little support from the divine. His chart recently sees a shift of the Sun into his 7th house.

The transit of the Sun in Aries favours this placement, bringing him benefits in his profession. Additionally, this period will be dedicated to earning rewards for the previous hard work. Thus, winning the toss will be a reward from the universe to Pant for his previous efforts and hard work.

LSG vs RCB Win Prediction

Considering the current form of both teams, RCB have higher chances to win the contest, whether they will bowl first or bat. RCB’s batters have shown great intent this season while their bowlers have been performing consistently. On the other hand, LSG have failed in both departments. Also out of the five matches played in Lucknow this season, the home side has managed to win only two. On the flip side, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been dominant away from home. That gives the visitors an edge in this contest.

Harry Brook: The Rise of England’s Dynamic Cricketing Prodigy

Harry Brook, the 26-year-old Yorkshire-born batter, has rapidly emerged as a cornerstone of English cricket. Known for his explosive strokeplay and unorthodox flair, Brook has redefined modern batting across formats. From his early days in domestic cricket to leading England’s white-ball teams, his journey is a blend of raw talent, adaptability, and leadership. Below is a detailed exploration of his career, achievements, and impact.

Early Life & Domestic Career: Foundations of a Star

Harry Brook’s cricketing journey began at Yorkshire County Cricket Club , where he made his first-class debut in 2017 against Middlesex at Lord’s, scoring a half-century . His early years at Yorkshire showcased his potential, as he piled on centuries in the County Championship, earning recognition as a future international star. Notably, he debuted in first-class cricket against Pakistan A in 2017, signaling his readiness for higher stakes .

Brook’s domestic success wasn’t limited to red-ball cricket. He became a key figure in Yorkshire’s T20 and one-day setups, blending aggression with consistency. His ability to dominate spin and pace alike caught the eye of national selectors, setting the stage for his international rise.

International Career: Dominating Global Stages

Brook’s international career took off with his ODI debut in 2022 , where he quickly amassed 816 runs in 26 matches at an average of 34.00, including a maiden century (110) . His T20I debut followed shortly, and he has since earned 44 caps, becoming a vital cog in England’s batting lineup.

However, it is in Test cricket that Brook has truly shone. Scoring a monumental 317 against Pakistan in 2024, he became the first England batter to achieve such a feat since 1990 . His career Test average of 58.48 underscores his class, placing him among the elite in the format. Despite his aggressive style, Brook adapts seamlessly to conditions, as seen during the Ashes, where he faced fierce sledging but remained composed under pressure .

Leadership & Commitment: A New Era for England

In April 2025, Brook was appointed England’s T20 and ODI captain , succeeding Jos Buttler . This promotion came after his stint as vice-captain in both formats and his leadership in The Hundred , where he skippered the Northern Superchargers . Brook’s decision to step away from the IPL 2025 season to focus on England duties further highlights his dedication to national cricket .

His leadership philosophy emphasizes team cohesion and aggressive cricket , traits that have already revitalized England’s white-ball squads. As he stated, prioritizing international commitments over franchise cricket ensures he remains at the peak of his powers for key tournaments .

Franchise Cricket: Balancing Global Leagues

Brook’s franchise career began with the Indian Premier League (IPL) , where he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite withdrawing from IPL 2025 to recharge , his earlier performances—marked by quickfire half-centuries and adaptability on spin-friendly pitches—earned praise.

Beyond the IPL, Brook participated in The Hundred , showcasing his T20 acumen. While he hasn’t featured in the T10 League or Caribbean Premier League (CPL) extensively, his focus on white-ball internationals and The Hundred suggests a strategic approach to workload management.

Playing Style & Strengths: Mastering the Art of Batting

Brook’s strong zone lies in his ability to attack spinners, particularly through the leg side. His high backlift and wristy flicks destabilize bowlers, while his footwork against pace—both inside-out drives and pull shots—makes him a multifaceted threat. Notably, his Test average of 58.48 reflects his technical soundness and temperament 3.

What sets Brook apart is his chase-defying calm . In high-pressure run chases, he combines risk-taking with calculated shot selection, often turning matches single-handedly. His aggressive mindset was evident during the Ashes, where he thrived despite hostile sledging .

Legacy & Future Prospects

Harry Brook’s legacy is still being written, but his impact is undeniable. By taking over England’s white-ball captaincy , he steps into a leadership void left by Eoin Morgan and Buttler, with the challenge of guiding the team through the 2025 ODI World Cup and beyond .

Off the field, Brook’s ventures—like training with Major League Baseball’s St Louis Cardinals —highlight his athletic versatility and global appeal . With a net worth bolstered by endorsements and franchises, he remains grounded, crediting family and Yorkshire mentors for his success .

As Brook balances leadership demands and batting excellence, his journey embodies the evolution of modern cricketers: fearless, adaptable, and relentlessly driven. Whether dismantling spin attacks or steering England to glory, Harry Brook isn’t just a player—he’s a phenomenon redefining cricket’s future.

Dushmantha Chameera: A Dynamic Pace Sensation – Career Journey, Legacy & Impact

Early Life and Domestic Career

Dushmantha Chameera, born on January 11, 1992 , in Ragama, Sri Lanka , began playing cricket at age 11 . His raw pace and ability to generate bounce quickly set him apart. By 2012 , he emerged as a standout performer in Sri Lanka’s domestic circuit, representing Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC) . His aggressive style and knack for swing bowling earned him early recognition, with critics praising his “slippery” rhythm and ability to trouble top-order batsmen . This foundation laid the groundwork for his rise into international cricket.

International Breakthrough

Chameera’s international debut came in 2015 , where he showcased his fiery pace and inswinging deliveries across formats . Over nearly a decade, he accumulated over 100 caps across Tests, ODIs, and T20Is . Known for his stealthy run-up and deceptive late swing , he became a key asset in Sri Lanka’s limited-overs setup. His career spanned until 2024 , during which he consistently delivered crucial breakthroughs, particularly with his seam movement and yorker variations . Despite injury setbacks, his ability to adapt to different conditions solidified his reputation as a reliable fast bowler.

IPL Stint: From Rajasthan Royals to Delhi Capitals

Chameera entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2018 with the Rajasthan Royals , leveraging his pace and aggression to disrupt batting lineups. However, his IPL journey saw mixed fortunes due to recurring injuries. Later, he joined Delhi Capitals , where his role as a death-over specialist gained traction . Though he never became a permanent fixture in a single franchise, his ability to extract bounce on Indian pitches made him a valuable asset during powerplays and death overs . Notably, his KKR stint highlighted his potential to thrive in high-pressure scenarios .

Global T20 Leagues: ILT20 and Beyond

Beyond the IPL, Chameera expanded his horizons in leagues like the International League T20 (ILT20) , where his pace and swing expertise complemented teams seeking a strike bowler . While details of his T10 participation remain sparse, his T20 profile emphasizes versatility —whether as an opening bowler or a finisher. His tall frame (6 ft) and natural inswingers allowed him to exploit crease-to-crease pressure, a trait prized in shorter formats .

Strengths: Bowling Zones and Tactical Acumen

Chameera’s forte lies in hitting the right areas consistently . His seam position and wrist angle generate late swing , making it challenging for batsmen to read his deliveries early. He thrives in stifling conditions , using good-length balls to exploit uneven bounce and induce edges . Additionally, his yorkers and slower deliveries in death overs add depth to his arsenal. Teams often deploy him to break partnerships or dismantle tailenders, leveraging his economy rates under 8.5 in T20s .

Legacy: A Trailblazer for Sri Lankan Pace

Though injury-prone, Chameera’s career symbolizes resilience and adaptability. He bridged the gap between Sri Lanka’s traditional spin-heavy approach and the modern need for pace variety . Young fast bowlers in Sri Lanka now emulate his disciplined line and aggressive mindset . While he never achieved superstar status, his 100+ international appearances underscore his role as a dependable workhorse in Sri Lanka’s cricketing history .

Mitchell Starc: The Fearsome Left-Arm Pacer of Australian Cricket

Starc, born on January 30, 1990, in Baulkham Hills, New South Wales, Australia, is widely regarded as one of the most lethal left-arm fast bowlers in cricket history. His towering frame (6’6″) and ability to generate extreme pace and swing have made him a nightmare for batters across formats. From humble beginnings to global stardom, Starc’s journey is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and relentless skill .

Early Career & Domestic Cricket

Starc’s cricketing journey began in Sydney, where he attended Home Bush Boys High School before representing New South Wales (NSW) in domestic cricket. Despite early struggles with consistency and injuries, his raw talent shone through. In 2008, he debuted for NSW in first-class cricket, showcasing glimpses of his potential with sharp bounce and swing . His breakthrough came during the 2010–11 Big Bash League (BBL) season, where he claimed 14 wickets at an economy of 7.05, earning recognition as a rising star .

Starc’s domestic career saw him become a key player for NSW and the Sydney Thunder in the BBL. By 2019–20, he emerged as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, reinforcing his reputation as a match-winner in high-pressure situations. His performances also earned him stints in English county cricket with Hampshire, where he refined his skills against top-tier competition .

International Career: Dominance Across Formats

Starc’s international debut came in 2010 in ODIs, but it was his Test debut against New Zealand in December 2011 that marked the start of his ascent. Initially criticized for inconsistency, he evolved into Australia’s spearhead, combining aggression with strategic nous .

Test Cricket

In Tests, Starc has taken 227 wickets at an average of 28.20 , including a career-best 6/44 against South Africa in 2016. His ability to exploit swing and seam movement, particularly in English conditions, made him pivotal in Ashes series victories. Notably, his fiery spell of 5/46 at Lord’s in 2019 dismantled England’s batting lineup .

ODIs: World Cup Heroics

Mitchell Starc’s ODI career is legendary. At the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, he took 22 wickets at 10.18, the tournament’s highest tally 126. He earned Player of the Tournament honors as Australia won the title 4. With 244 wickets in 127 ODIs, his consistency shines 8. He also holds the record for most ODI runs (2,892) without a century—a quirk of aggressive lower-order batting.

T20 Internationals

As Australia’s T20 captain (2022–2024), Starc took 71 wickets in 79 matches at 8.06 economy. His 3/26 in the 2021 T20 World Cup final vs. New Zealand helped Australia win their maiden T20 title.

Mitchell Starc IPL factfile

– As of 2024, Mitchell Starc was the costliest player procured at an IPL auction when Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made a successful bid of INR 24.75 crore (US$ 2.98 million approx.) for him at the auction before the 2024 IPL.

– He had a mixed bag of a tournament, but when it mattered the most – in the playoffs, Starc brought out his best. He finished the season with 17 wickets in 14 matches as KKR lifted their third IPL title.

– In the IPL 2025 auction, Starc was picked up by Delhi Capitals for INR 11.75 crore.

– One of the most sought-after players in T20 cricket, Starc had played only 27 matches across the first 15 editions of the IPL, with injuries, international commitments, and personal reasons kept keeping him away at various points.

– In the two IPLs that Starc played before KKR got him for 2024, he took 14 and 20 wickets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), in 2014 and 2015.

Other T20 Leagues

  • Big Bash League (BBL) : Starc remains a Sydney Thunder icon, contributing to their 2016 title with 14 wickets.
  • Pakistan Super League (PSL) : Played for Lahore Qalandars in 2023, adding variety to his T20 resume.
  • Caribbean Premier League (CPL) : Represented Barbados Tridents, leveraging his pace to dominate West Indies batters.

T10 Leagues

While Starc has yet to feature prominently in the T10 format, his adaptability suggests potential for success in shorter, high-octane contests.

Strong Zone: Death Bowling & Swing Mastery

Starc’s greatest strength lies in his death bowling , where he excels due to his lethal yorker and ability to bowl at 150kph , often sealing matches with last-over heroics. Moreover , his left-arm angle creates awkward angles for right-handed batters, while his swing variations —particularly reverse swing in overcast conditions—make him a consistent threat in the powerplay and middle overs. Additionally , his composure under pressure is evident in his frequent match-winning performances. Notably , his 5/15 against India in the 2019 ODI series remains one of his most iconic spells. further cementing his reputation as a clutch performer. Furthermore , his mastery of yorkers —including executing 11 in 12 balls at 145kph with reverse swing—underscores his unparalleled death-over expertise, even amid challenges like the absence of a refined slower ball.

Legacy & Records

Mitchell Starc’s legacy is etched in his 22 World Cup wickets (2015 and 2019) , two Ashes triumphs, and a T20 World Cup gold. He holds records such as:

  • Most ODI wickets by an Australian (244) .
  • Fastest to 150 ODI wickets (99 matches) .
  • Player of the Tournament in 2015 ODI World Cup .

Beyond statistics, Starc’s influence extends to inspiring a generation of fast bowlers. His work ethic—overcoming injuries like a stress fracture in 2014—and tactical intelligence have redefined modern fast bowling. As he approaches retirement, his name stands alongside Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee as one of Australia’s greatest left-arm pacemen .

T. Natarajan: The Tenacious Left-Arm Pacer

Thangarasu Natarajan, born on April 4, 1991 , in Chinnappampatti, Salem, Tamil Nadu , is an Indian cricketer renowned for his left-arm medium-fast bowling and gritty performances. Hailing from a modest background—his father worked as a weaver, and his mother ran a small household—he rose through sheer determination to become a key figure in Indian cricket .

Early Career

T. Natarajan started playing cricket in local tournaments in Tamil Nadu. His raw pace and variations impressed local scouts early on. He made his first-class debut in the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy.Soon after, his bowling action was reported as suspect. This led to a temporary setback in his career. He returned to competitive cricket in August 2016. It was his second first-class match after a 21-month gap. In 2016, he played in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. His yorkers and slower deliveries stood out under pressure.
His TNPL performance earned him recognition and praise. He secured an IPL 2017 auction spot due to his form. The IPL opportunity marked a major turning point in his career.

Domestic Career

Natarajan’s domestic career highlights his adaptability across formats. After joining Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2018 , he transformed into a death-over specialist , mastering flat Indian pitches under coaches like Tom Moody and captains like David Warner . In List A cricket , he claimed 21 wickets in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy , showcasing his ODI prowess . His T20 dominance shone in the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy , where he was the joint-highest wicket-taker , cementing his reputation as a high-pressure performer . Though his Ranji Trophy journey was interrupted by his suspect action in 2014–15, he rebounded to become a consistent performer for Tamil Nadu . By 2024 , his most successful IPL season, he had solidified his legacy as a reliable death bowler in Indian conditions.

This blend of perseverance and skill underscores Natarajan’s rise from a small-town cricketer to a domestic stalwart.

T. Natarajan International Career: A Historic Debut

Natarajan earned his international breakthrough during India’s 2020–21 tour of Australia. An injury opened the door for him to join the squad. He made history by debuting in all three formats on that single tour.He played his first-ever Test match, though his role remained limited. In white-ball cricket, he quickly made a strong impact. His left-arm angle and clever variations troubled opposing batters. He especially excelled in T20Is, showcasing his death-over skills.

However, his international career has been sporadic due to competition from Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Mohammed Shami. As of 2024 , he has featured in 10 ODIs and 15 T20Is , with his last international appearance in 2023 .

IPL Legacy: SRH’s Death-Over General

Natarajan’s IPL career is defined by his consistency and tactical intelligence . After joining SRH in 2018, he evolved into a match-winner , often delivering under pressure. His 2024 season was his most successful, with 16 wickets at an economy rate of 8.2 , including a memorable 4/26 against Rajasthan Royals . His ability to execute yorkers in crunch moments and vary pace made him indispensable for SRH, even as the team fluctuated in performance .

In 2025 , he joined Delhi Capitals after being retained in the mega-auction, signaling his value as a seasoned campaigner in high-pressure games .

Strengths: The Left-Arm Menace

Natarajan’s left-arm angle gives him an edge, troubling right-handed batters with angles into the stumps. His repertoire includes sharp slower balls, cutters, and pinpoint yorkers , making him lethal in the death overs. On flat Indian pitches, his ability to generate late swing and maintain line sets him apart. Additionally, his left-handed batting adds depth to the lower order, occasionally chipping in with quick runs .

Legacy: A Symbol of Perseverance

Natarajan’s story is one of resilience and grit . Rising from a rural village with limited resources, he defied odds to represent India on the global stage. His journey inspires countless aspirants from small towns, proving that talent and hard work can break barriers. Though injuries and competition have limited his international exposure, his IPL legacy and domestic consistency ensure his place in cricketing folklore.
